#EverydayInspiralized: Vegan Carrot Hot Dogs with Spiralized Toppings

YASSSS we’re back with the vegan carrot dogs again in this week’s episode of #EverydayInspiralized, my video cooking series on our YouTube channel.

Yes, these are carrots made into hot dogs, for my vegan friends or those who simply want to eat a little cleaner and creatively.

Plus, Memorial Day is only a few days away – so what better time to show you how to make these healthy ‘dogs than now?!

Seriously, I can’t say it enough: these carrot dogs are amazing! If you want to make them for your BBQ, I suggest preparing the dogs themselves ahead of time (no more than one day) and then when everyone’s grilling, just pop your carrots on there to reheat.

Feel free to get creative with your toppings – I love caramelized onions and pickles or even Italian-style peppers and onions. And remember, you’re not eating a hot dog, so splurge a bit on the toppings!

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing a spiralized recipe roundup for those Memorial Day BBQs, but won’t be posting any new content until the Tuesday after Memorial Day, so follow me on social for updates! Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Snapchat (username Inspiralized) especially!

For the original recipe, click here. And if you make it, make sure to use the hashtag #inspiralized when posting on Twitter and Instagram so we can see!

And before we get to the video, let me say this: if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Oh, and “treat others as you’d like to be treated.” Just a couple of themes my mother brought me up with.

  • So I watched this last night (and am now dreaming of spiralizer pickles). My favorite part was definitely "haters gonna hate"! Lol
  • Uh-oh...let's hope those Instagram haters from months ago stay in their place. ;-) All I can say is they are clearly missing out on an awesome recipe! Their loss! This recipe is epic.
  • Great fun for those of us with a sense of humor! Who wouldn't smile with oodles of poodles (pickle noodles) on a hot dog?! This will be purrfect for summer gatherings.
  • For over 40 years a Omaha cafe served Veggie Carrot Dogs. So they are well received many places. My mom had several sayings, all good ones. And yes "nice " is nice, and naughty is not okay. Go dump somewhere else.
  • These carrot dogs look so good! I think I'll give them a try this Memorial day weekend. I love the idea of spiralized pickles (love your term-poodles!) and carmelized onions. Thanks for another great recipe! And "haters", go hate somewhere else (or better yet, not at all) ! :)
  • So what if carrots don't taste like hot dogs? So as long as this is a healthy recipe that uses good cooking skills and is a great alternative for vegans and vegetarians, then this deserves no hate! Keep it positive, people!
  • Haven't tried this yet but will try in on our first camping trip. Before we tried the store bought vegan hot dog and we were extremely disappointed. Now that I have my inspiralizer, I can make the carrot hot dog with the inspiralizer toppings and I can't wait. I know we will love it!!!!!
  • I was somewhat doubtful but made the carrot hot dogs yesterday, we were amazed when the aroma of roasting weiners filled the air and much more surprised when biting into what seemed a wonderful hot dog. We all used our favorite toppings and even the non vegetarians loved them. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe.
    • This is amazing to hear, Fran! We're so happy you and your family enjoyed these! Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
  • hi, very interesting looks great will have to try. The carrots are they crispy or get soft when they come out the oven
    • You must!! They're cooked through, so they're soft with a little bit of a crispy skin.
