For all of my #poweredbyplants friends, today we have a vegan and vegetarian recipe roundup.

I miss veganism, I was actually just talking on Snapchat about how I wanted to give it another go, but wasn’t sure how it would affect this blog.

And then I tested a carnitas recipe.

I feel my best when I’m eating vegan, but I do have a hard time maintaining veganism. It definitely takes a lot of planning and prepping to eat a fully nutritional vegan diet.

The best part about veganism is that I always felt like I was eating a lot, all the time. Whether it was kale smoothies or big veggie burrito bowls, I always felt satisfied.

Alas, regardless of whether I go back to veganism, here’s today’s roundup:

  • I too feel best on a vegan diet. Can't wait to try some of these recipes! Thanks!
    • It's a fantastic way to eat. We're glad you'll enjoy the roundup!
    • The animals for sure..feel better :) Veganism is not a diet. It is an ethical lifestyle that goes well beyond what is on the plate... if you guys are on and off... may I respectfully suggest you call your choice... plant based when you are making such choice. Eating the vegan way does not make one vegan.
      • The animals don't care what you call it!
  • All of these are making me seriously drool <3 Especially those Miso-Ginger Cucumber Noodles! I've got to say that spiralizing has made it a lot easier for me since I went vegan to not always load up on carbs. Whenever I need a nourishing meal with lots of veggies without the carb load, I usually make a spiralizer bowl! Adding all of these to my dinner rotation :)
    • That's so fantastic to hear, Emilie. So glad you'll get good use out of this roundup.
  • If you're looking for an extra push to go (even mostly) vegan, watch Earthlings. Watching the documentary opened my eyes to some horrific truths and pushed me even closer to a fully vegan lifestyle (I am already a vegetarian). I love your blog but I, personally, would love to see you go vegetarian/vegan again ;)
    • Thank you so much for the suggestion, Ariel! Being vegan is a wonderful way of life.
  • Hi Ali - I have been eating flexatarian ( mostly vegan, sometime fish) for about 3 years now. I would LOVE to see more vegan/vegetarian inspiralized recipes. Any way I can get more nutrients into my diet would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your creativity and inspiration. And if I can be so bold as to say, this - I think you blog would survive ,even thrive with a vegan/veg slant. Yes, you may lose some current subscribers, but you'd gain new ones too. Wishing you the best no matter what you decide. Happy 2016.
