You’re doing great. Thanks for the advice.

One other mom note is that your looks will change. Although you look great you have changed so much. Your look has matured. You are beautiful.

Best wishes to you all.

Great post! Although my children are quite a bit older (23, 21, 20 and 17) I can totally relate to everything you said! I would add something that someone told me once..."little kids, little problems, big kids, big problems!" Yep...enjoy your time now, don't rush anything, because just wait until they are teenagers and you really want to pull your hair out! lol But it is funny, even now, I look forward to when the kids are out of the house so we can have some peace and quiet and then when they are gone I miss them! So that feeling never goes away. And awesome job with the breast feeding! Keep it up...it truly is a special bond between mother and child. :-)

Thanks for this! I'm almost 2 months in with my first baby (boy!) and I still feel like I'm in the trenches, but it is so helpful to remember everything is just a phase. Luca allllways looks so happy and adorable in your posts, it's comforting to hear that you also struggled with things and have reached such a happy time for all! I agree with so much of what you said here - thanks for sharing!

Great post!!!! This is a truly honest post and I agree with everything. While my youngest just turned two and I feel like I’m out of the trenches now, it was a rough first year with my first baby. Like really rough. Like so rough I had no idea how I would have another but it got easier and I had another and now he’s older and it’s so much fun.
I especially like your point about filling up your cup. After my second one I found a great mommy and baby workout group and it helped tremendously. I actually looked
Forward to the classes and ended up going 5days/week after a few months and my boy did really great too and would always come home and have a long nap after.
Happy Mother’s Day Ali!

Thank you for your new mom wisdom and encouragement, and your care for those of us who have experienced the loss of a child too. I lost my 30yr old son to a long battle with depression and ultimately suicide in 2010, and there are lessons you learn from that as well. When I do my yard work I always think lots about my son since he loved landscaping. Yesterday these were my thoughts...
MOTHERS and MUSEUMS

Mothers are like museums.
Chosen carefully by the artist to guard, protect, and share their masterpiece.
God is the greatest artist, and our children his beautiful masterpieces.
Masterpieces on loan — some for a long time, while others very brief.
No matter how long or short the time, returning the masterpiece is always hard.
It is hard to let go; it is hard to remember His masterpiece, my child, was always just on loan; it is hard in the moment to be thankful He chose me as the curator for His masterpiece; it is hard, still.

I am thankful I was chosen, even for that brief time. Cherish each and every moment!
