I enjoyed reading your post. I found it I was looking things up for my step grand daughter. She is pregnant with identical twin boys. She has no children yet.she is also high high risk and goes to Dr every 2 wks. I hope she’s been reading a lot. We live 200 miles from her so we haven’t seen her. We will be going to see her in July for baby shower. Best of luck to you.

Hi! I’m also carrying twin boys that are MCDA so identical as well. It was fun reading your post! I bought a Weego used off Offer Up last week. The whole thing is intimidating as it’s all so new. I have two girls currently that will be 7 and 5 at the end of the summer and my initial thought when I heard twin boys was what in earth am I going to do with two boys?! But I’ve been feeling more encouraged by stories like yours and others. Thank you do sharing! I didn’t know a night nanny is an option but definitely something I’m going to have to look into.

Hi Ali,
I am a mum of 4, number 3 and 4 identical twin girls, l had 4 under 5years of age l know all your concerns but they have a way of working out and you do what’s right for you and your family, accept help when its offered and don’t be afraid to ask for help as it can be overwhelming. My girls were born by caesarian at 37week and 1 day. l was told by a gentleman who also had twins that the first 12 months was the hardest but you make it and all the worries and concerns are there but you learn to deals with them as they arrive. I would definitely have multiple changing stations on the different levels make sure you have all the nappies pre folded this can be a life saver and also you have complete changes of clothes as little accidents can happen. Whenever possible try and get as much rest a you can you will need it. Congratulations to you both on your wonderful news. I wish you all joy and happiness.

My twin boys (now 18 mo) did great tandem feeding with the My breast friend twin nursing pillow, both in a football hold. We started the double football tandem feeding in the hospital right after birth (I was lucky I went 38 weeks before being induced). You’ll find what works for you! And extra hands the first 3 months were a life saver!

Hi! I definitely recommend a sleep and changing station on each floor. We had a night nurse when my 2nd was born and it was uncomfortable at first, but so wonderful once we got to know each other. It helped getting recommendations from friends who loved her. The baby was in the pack n play bassinet in the livingroom (they have some nice twin ones!) when the night nurse was here. And during the day it was nice having it there too since they sleep so much at first, I’d pop the baby to nap there while playing w my older kiddo. Also-our night nurse would change the baby and bring him to me to nurse and then take him after, so that’s an option too. Just felt easier than waking to pump to me. So excited for you!

There will be some trial and error but honestly you are going into this well read, well prepared, self aware, and with so much love and joy that it will all work out fine. You have an exhausting, crazy, overwhelming few years ahead of you but oh my think of all the noisy and fun-filled memories you will make and those little kisses and hugs. You’ve got this mama!

I’m not a mom and have absolutely no knowledge of twins, but the part where you talked about Roma being surrounded by loving brothers made me well up. I grew up with younger brothers and I was definitely the princess of the house and kept all those boys in line! She’s definitely going to grow up with very high standards and also know how to not get pushed around!! So much love to your adorable growing family 🙂

I have loved reading about your pregnancy, it brings back so many memories when I was pregnant with my twin boys over 11 years ago. It sounds like you have done a lot of work mentally and physically preparing for their arrival. The one thing I never realized about twins before I had them is the amount of joy they bring to everyone around them. Please let me know if you have any questions. I also have four kids and nursed them all for over a year (it was life changing once the boys were big enough to feed at the same time). Best wishes!

I have lived in a multi-level house with all of my babies. I can’t recommend enough having all the things you need on every floor. It’s too much to be going up and down with one or two tiny babies!

I think you’re handling all of this with such strength and grace as you usually do! It’s gotta be overwhelming but you’re taking it one step at a time. My only tip for multiple levels is to YES have a setup on each one. Especially with two, double the diapers! Even a small basket with the essentials (diapers, wipes, extra onesies) and a foldable changing pad to do on the floor will be so, so helpful.

Hi! Not a twin mom but mom of 4 in a 3 story house. I found that having 2 diaper and nap stations helped tremendously. A night nurse was a non negotiable thing for me. A functional mother is a better mother. Also, something that I really found helpful- get the baby used to room temperature bottles. It makes the world of a difference not to have to worry about warming up the formula in the middle of the night or when you are out. Good luck with everything! You’re a rockstar!!
