Hi Ali! I've been following you for a while and love your recipes! I've been slowly transitioning to a more non-toxic lifestyle as well and asked for a set of GreenPan cookware for Christmas. My husband bought it for me and I was so excited to start using it. I've been using it now for less than a week, and I'm already having chips on the surface of the cookware. I read all of the instructions first and have only used high heat oils, cleaned with a soft sponge, warm water, and soap (no dishwasher or anything abrasive), only used silicone or wood spatulas, etc. I'm curious, have you not had any of these issues yourself? It looks like a lot of the other commenters have had similar issues and I'm really disappointed in the quality, especially given the cost. :(

I've been eyeing GreenPan for awhile as I stay away from Teflon when possible. This is super helpful! I'm curious what the difference is between the valencia pro and the venice pro, aside from the gray vs white color? Why might it make sense for me to pick one collection over the other?

Hi Juliet,
Jessica from GreenPan here. So glad to read that you are interested in GreenPan! When cooking with our products, we recommend making slight changes: using low-medium heat settings and high smoke point oils. The ceramic non-stick is designed to hold the heat really well so higher temperatures aren't needed for regular, everyday cooking. Also, please avoid spray oils (these can cause hot spots). If you should have any additional questions, please feel free to contact our customer service department. We can be reached at info@greenpan.com or (914) 372-7777. Be sure to tell them Jessica sent you :)

In reply to <a href="https://inspiralized.com/my-non-toxic-kitchen-with-greenpan/#comment-365085">Karen</a>.

Hi Karen,
This is Jessica from GreenPan. I'm sorry to read that you had a sticking issue. When using our products, we do recommend using lower heat settings and high smoke point oils (like canola oil). When you combine low smoke point oils (like EVOO) and high heat, the oil will burn and carbonize on the surface. This is where the sticking comes from. It can be easily removed with a melamine sponge and warm water. Do you still have the pans? We would like to resolve the issue for you. Please contact our customer service department at your earliest convenience, we can be reached at info@greenpan.com or (914) 372-7777. Please tell them Jessica sent you :) Thank you!

In reply to <a href="https://inspiralized.com/my-non-toxic-kitchen-with-greenpan/#comment-365050">Heather</a>.

We bought the ones from Costco, and those little divots in the bottom are really tricky to clean!

Coconut oil has a lower smoke point, and isn't really great for high heat cooking. Avocado oil has a higher smoke point!

I've also been trying to cook at med-high or medium heat, since the Green Pan website does say not to cook at very high heats with their pans. Thankfully the Costco ones were cheap enough that I'm not too torn up if they don't last forever, but I do like them so far.
