Inspiralized - Spiralizing in Season, Veggie & Fruit Seasonality Chart

I post zucchini noodle recipes all throughout the winter. However, outside of summer, zucchinis tend to be smaller, won’t show up in your CSA deliveries, nor can you find them at your local farm stand past October.

Clearly, that hasn’t stopped me. Luckily, grocery stores tend to keep all types of vegetables year-round and zucchinis are one of them.

However, if you only get your veggies from CSA deliveries or going to that local farm, today I’m going to prepare you for the rest of the 2014 season (and beyond!) with this “Spiralizing in Season” veggie seasonality chart.

This seasonality chart is a rough guideline of the seasonality of these popular spiralizable vegetables (to find out if your vegetable is spiralizable, click here.)

Of course, you can find apples year-round. However, their peak harvest is in the fall and certain apples don’t show up in the grocery stores during certain months, as they’re not at their freshest, prime for the picking and then selling.

However, if you’d like to eat in season, then check out this chart:

  • You are amazing, Ali. Thank you for being there with all your marvelous ideas. You are an inspiration, Madame Inspiralized
  • Yes, these kinds of charts are very helpful. I like being able to get summary information about techniques. I'm sure this, along with your tempting recipes, will help me get to use my spiralizer more.
  • Hi, Ali .... I can't begin to tell you how much I'm finding I am addicted to zucchini noodles. Have you ever tried freezing them? I have a bunch of zucchini coming up in my garden. Last night I made your Basil Pomodoro Zucchini Pasta with Chicken and practically "inhaled" it. Keep up the good work :-)
    • Chuck - so glad to hear you're liking the recipes! If you go to my How To page you can see information on freezing and preparing spiralized veggies in advance!
      • Thanks, Ali .... I ordered a machine through your Amazon link. I am using your pictures on my website and linking back to your site for the recipes (as you required). I am getting LOTS of people interested in this. Hopefully they will order from you. Your pictures are AMAZING .... do you do your own photography? I will def look at your How-To pages. Thanks :-)
        • Chuck - thanks for the kind comment (again!) - yes, I do my own photography. Thanks!
  • I just got my Spiral Vegetable Slicer and love your sight. I'm sure this will help with my veggie eating and eating less "white". The charts are indeed helpful!
  • Is it possible to be addicted to inspiralizing? I think so. Healthy, delicious recipes. Huge thanks to you Ali. You restore my confidence in the youth of America.
  • I just ordered 3 more spiralizers and your inspiralized tote bags. I came up with the absolute perfect gift idea, even for those who have everything. My gift basket includes (per gift)- a paderno spiralizer, an inspiralized tote bag, a set of tongs, a gift certificate to a local farm market & hopefully soon your cookbook. (& of course a note with the link to your blog). Of course, you can omit some items for a cheaper version but for $50-$100 (Depending on items included) i have built the best gift basket/bundle ever! What is better than giving someone you love a healthy new way of life! I have 3 people finished for Christmas & birthdays already. Everyone can improve their lifestyle so it even covers that person who has everything & is tough to buy for.. My mother-n-law, case in point. Oh, & i cannot wait to see how it gets fought over at the white elephant parties! Thank you so much Ali! I really see big things in your future! You have tapped into something special here. & i appreciate anyone that helps me get my holiday shopping done early. This year is record early!
  • Do you ever Blanche the zucchini noodles? I have only sautéed them in a pan.
  • I love the spiralizer and would like to demostrate it for every one to see. Love your recipes
