As you probably know, tomorrow is Memorial Day. Who doesn’t love Memorial Day? It’s the unofficial start of summer – pools open, weekend barbecues begin and it’s socially acceptable to wear white.
Last summer was the first summer Lu and I lived together. Bless his heart, he spent every weekend with me holed up in coffee shops, working on my Inspiralized business plans, while everyone else was outside enjoying the gorgeous summer weather. He kept me company while I blogged all day long on a Saturday, when everyone else was out having drinks on patios, swimming in pools and on the beach.
Now that I’ve found my groove, my weekends this summer will be more free and I’m excited to drive down the shore (yes, we call it the shore) and finally enjoy the beautiful pool our building has.
Most importantly, I’m ready to throw some barbecues, full of Inspiralized food!
If you’re last-minute like me and still need to plan your Memorial Day spread tomorrow, why not impress your guests with some of these healthy, spiralized recipes that are group-friendly.
If you’re serving a spiralized pasta dish, make sure it doesn’t have a heavy sauce (like a tomato). Serve pastas with light dressings or olive oil-based sauces.
Pasta salads are perfect for big get togethers and these are very light. Try to keep them over ice, if possible.
Salads can get boring – keep things fresh and interesting with a spiralized salad.
If your party goers love rice dishes, try making it with spiralized rice.
There’s so many possibilities when you’re spiralizing. Try some of these sides and sandwiches!
– The Inspiralized Bun – jazz up your burgers with these Paleo, gluten-free buns!
