Spiced Pear Overnight Oats
Full disclosure: this was my very first time making overnight oats! For whatever reason, I was always intimidated by making them. What are the perfect ratios? Milk or yogurt? What types of oats? And I never got around to doing it at night.
Then, one day, I tried it – and it worked perfectly and I was surprised at how easy and most importantly, delicious it was! Overnight oats are a nutritious and portable way to enjoy breakfast. It’s simple – just pack all of the ingredients into a mason jar, stir well, let sit overnight (or for at least 6 hours), and then stir in the morning, add a bit more milk to your preference, and voila – overnight oats to enjoy!
This is what they look like before the stir:
And then in the morning, after stirred and added with a little almond milk to make for a creamier consistency:
There are so many combinations with overnight oats, and I kept it pretty classic – cinnamon and maple, which pairs well with pear (pun intended!) The spiralized pears stir easily into the oats and ensure a little bit of pear in every bite, adding to this breakfast’s natural sweetness!
To be honest, I snacked on this all day long – from breakfast to dessert! I topped these oats with walnuts for an extra healthy fat and some crunch, as an option (and to make these photos a bit more pretty – oats are kinda blah in terms of color, haha!)
So tell me – what are your favorite overnight oat combinations?
