a polka dot nursing dress + nursing favorites

I plan on breastfeeding once the baby arrives. of course, I'm aware that it doesn't happen as easily as we'd like it to happen, so I'm prepared for whatever situation necessary - pumping or breast-feeding, a combo, or whatever. regardless, I'm going into this hoping I'll be breastfeeding!

Polka Dot Dress I Denim Jacket I Sneakers I Purse

I plan on breastfeeding once the baby arrives. of course, I’m aware that it doesn’t happen as easily as we’d like it to happen, so I’m prepared for whatever situation necessary – pumping or breast-feeding, a combo, or whatever. regardless, I’m going into this hoping I’ll be breastfeeding!

however, I have about 85 onesies, but this mama-to-be doesn’t have much nursing wear! while not totally necessary (because you can always just put a nursing cover over yourself if you’re in public), I’d imagine that it feels a little chicer to have an actual nursing top or dress so that you can easily nurse without fretting about your tummy hanging out.

I’m now on a mission to find the cutest nursing wear (suggestions welcome!), but at first, I’m loving this polka dot nursing dress from Boob. I wore it on a day when it was in the high 60s, low 70s and paired it with a denim jacket and some easy white Adidas sneaks, and I’m sure I’m going to be living in sneakers once the baby comes. I’m not a big high heel person anyway, and I certainly won’t be that chic mama pushing a stroller in stilettos.

this outfit got me excited for the end of summer, when the temperatures drop a bit, so you can wear your favorite denim jacket again, but still rock a dress.

Boob makes maternity wear specifically designed for nursing (hence… BOOB.) all of their stuff is so comfortable and adorable, I’ve been wearing it since I got pregnant and I’m happy to be able to transition with these items post-baby.

here are my favorites from Boob, in case you’re also looking for some chic nursing wear:

  • Classic tank top – I wear this almost everyday, it not only is nursing-friendly but it’s nice and long, so it holds in and supports my belly. I also love wearing it at nighttime with some shorts.
  • Nightdress – Lu asked me the other day, “why do you look so cute?!” when I put this on. it’s really feminine, soft, and comfortable.
  • Tunic dress – when you put this on, you feel immediately more put together, which will be perfect for when we take the baby out for a dinner date night and I need to nurse at the table.

thanks to Boob for sending me the dress!
